Ebay commericals are brillant

Ebay recently released some new commericals and they are brillant and right on. Any one who has bought, bid, or got into a bidding contest on Ebay will love these. The two I have posted are my favorites so far.

Reveille VII

Texas A&M has many great football traditions, including their mascot Reveille VII. I was reading an article by Pat Forde on ESPN.com and he has a funny take on an incident that happened with Reveille VII. Here is what he wrote:

"Texas A&M mascot Reveille VII (35), the collie that sits on the sideline at Aggies games, was benched last week for snapping at her handler after the guy stepped on her tail. Sounds like he had it coming.

Being the highest-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets gives Reveille something to bark about.

But here's the part of the wire story that stopped The Dash: "Reveille is considered the highest-ranking member of the school's Corps of Cadets and stands at attention in her maroon coat during sporting events and other functions."

Highest-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets? Do they salute the dog? Are there medals on the dog's coat? And why does the dog wear a coat to begin with?

If Reveille outranks the humans, what right do they have to discipline her for biting one of them? Shouldn't the correct response to a bite from a commanding officer be, "Thank you, ma'am, may I have another?"

Tough as Reveille might be, The Dash would rather take its chances with her than Ralphie (36) the buffalo or Mike (37) the tiger."

I just saw this commerical while watching a football game today. I thought it was pretty sweet. Maybe it's because the music in the background is from one of the greatest movie chase scenes of all-time...Last of the Mohicans.

Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawks are 2-0...this pleases me.

Call me Bob Villa...

Valerie and I recently bought our first house in Grand Prairie, TX. We are quite excited and have been spending the last couple weekends over at it doing some home improvements before we make the full move. Couple of thoughts:

1. I have kept Home Depot in business.
2. Choosing paint colors is not fun.
3. I am going to start my own home improvement show. My work with a power drill has been a thing of beauty.

I will get some pictures up once our new furniture is delivered and we are done painting. Looking forward to having some visitors from the North soon!

Please pray for Kira...

As many of you know, my 3-yr. old niece Kira has had a number of medical issues since she was born. Last week, the poor little girl had even more issues come up. Over the past week, Kira was having a lot of stomach pain and was not eating or drinking and if she did, it was extremely painful for her. My sister took her in to the hospital and some labs that they took determined her liver pain was extremely high, so she was admitted. She had an abdominal ultrasound and MRI and they found out that Kira has a Choledochal Cysts. You can click on Choledochal Cysts to read more about them. Anyways, it only occurs in 1 out of 100,000 little kids.

On Thursday, Kira will be having surgery to remove the cyst, remove her gall bladder, repair a hernia, place a g-tube and a more permanant line. Please pray that her surgery goes well and that she can heal quickly. This little girl has been through so much already and now this. She's a tough one!!
