Imogean Heap is coming out with a new album on August 25. She is what I like to call talented. I will go awhile without listening to her, but then when I do, I remember how flippin good she is. Here is an example; her new song Canvas.

A Bull's Revenge...Warning!!!
If you have a weak stomach, you might want to skip these pictures. However, now that I have said this, you can't resist looking now! These are a couple of pictures I found from past Runnings. I call these...A Bull's Revenge!
Day 8...Running of the Bulls
Well, the 2009 Running of the Bulls has come to a close. The final day brought us 4 injuries, which included a blow to the head and some fractured bones. Until next year, I leave you with some closing pictures from today.

Not good...not good at all. This guy is so lucky. Look where that bull's horn is compared to that dude's head. Wow.

Day 7...Running of the Bulls
Monday brought us only 3 injuries during the Running of the bulls. Things are beginning to slow down as Tuesday will be the final running for 2009. About halfway through Monday's run, one man fell in front of a bull leading the pack and was trampled. He was able to crawl away and was not seriously hurt.

Day 6...Running of the Bulls
Day six brought us 4 people being gored, including one man who was gored in the upper thorat and another in the thigh. Both were in serious but stable condition at the local hospital.
Thought of the Day: I just realized something while typing this today and that is...do you notice how you never hear that a woman was seriously injured during one of the runnings. Interesting. My guess is that they are smart and don't even try to run with the bulls, like idiot men do (yes, I would still like to be one of those idiot men someday).

Day 5...Running of the Bulls
Day five of eight are now complete and fortunately there was not a repeat of yesterday and the day ended with 5 people sustaining minor injuries and no gorings. The bulls which ran today belonged to breeder Dolores Aguirre, famed for producing hefty, strong animals. The largest of the six bulls weighed a tiny 1,378 pounds. Good Lord that is big!
Fact of the Day: The distance of the run is about a half of mile and takes under 3 minutes to complete.

I am guessing this guy is saying something worse than, "Oh geez, oh geez, oh geez..." in his head.
I have a good friend, Dave Hansen, back in Cedar Falls that enjoys climbing walls, buildings, or whatever looks fun. I would guess this would be Dave at the Running of the Bulls.

Day 4...Running of the Bulls
As I predicted yesterday, things got much worse today during the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. Unfortunately, a 27-year old male, on vacation with his parents and girlfriend, was gored in the neck by a bull and died. This is the first death since 1995. Very sad. Three others were gored and 5 were injured.
Here is a video of the run today. Don't worry it's not graphic, nor does it focus or show the young man that was killed. I am posting it because it shows how crazy it gets when these bulls are charging down the streets, especially when a bull gets separated from the group. When this happens, it is suppose to be very dangerous. The guy near the end of the video finds this out. He was lucky, just some minor injuries.

Day 3...Running of the Bulls
Day 3 of the Running of the Bulls brought us 5 injuries and no gorings. Each day the injuries have increased and I am predicting those numbers to climb as the weekend approaches and more runners get into the mix.
Story of the Day: "At one point a chocolate-colored bull fell and half a dozen runners tripped over it and went down. One man got up, turned back to toward the mass of oncoming traffic and was promptly run over by a black beast weighing around 645 kilograms (1,400 pounds). It was not immediately clear if this runner was among the five injured." I'm willing to bet that it was one of the people injured.
Fact of the Day: "Fourteen people have died at San Fermin since record-keeping began in 1924. The last fatal goring was in 1995. The victim was Matthew Tassio, a 22-year-old American."

Day 2...Running of the Bulls
A little bit of excitement today as, and I quote, "a Spaniard was poked in the buttocks by a charging beast." Fortunately for that guy, it wasn't a serious gore to the buttocks. Along with this incident, there were 3 injuries.
Fact of the day: "The bulls came from the Cebada Gago ranch, which has a reputation for raising fierce animals. They have taken part in the San Fermin festival for 24 straight years and gored 38 people, according to the festival's web site."
Quote of the day: A 27-year old Californian had this gem to say, "All I saw was horns, and I ran like crazy." That is some great strategy.

Day 1...Running of the Bulls
The first day of the Running of the Bulls took place today with no one getting gored and 4 people sent to the hospital for some scraps and bruises. Overall, things went quite smoothly as 6 fighting bulls and 6 steers made their way down the cobble streets of Pamplona.
Quote of the day came from a Canadian, "I feared for my life. It was pretty intense." Well said, neighbor to the North, well said.

Ahhhh its that time again...
Well, it's time for that yearly tradition here on my blog to cover the highs and mostly lows of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. I will once again be posting the "best" pictures of the day's running, as well as some stats, aka those folks who took it from a bull.
The first running takes place on Tuesday with 6 bulls making the run down the cobble streets of Pamplona. So stop by over the next week for your daily updates...should be another good one.
