Texas driving...

Click here to see proof that Texans have trouble driving in inclement weather. How the heck did this happen??

What? Huh? Are you kidding?

Benediction at Obama 's inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery:
"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen"...

U2...

The new U2 album "No Line on the Horizon" will be released on March 3. If you click here, you can listen to their first single, "Get on Your Boots."

Susi, get the Bono kick ready!

Leadership...

"If the world is to hear the church's voice today, leaders are needed who are authoritative, spiritual, and sacrificial. Authoritative, because people desire reliable leaders who know where they are going and are confident of getting there. Spiritual, because without a strong relationship to God, even the most attractive and competent person cannot lead people to God. Sacrificial, because this trait follows the model of Jesus, who gave Himself for the whole world and who calls us to follow His steps."

Starsailor...

I just learned that a favorite group of mine, Starsailor, will be coming out with a new album in March. Quite exciting. In the meantime, enjoy a favorite song of mine, "Four to the Floor."

Pendulum...In Silico

I came across the group Pendulum the other day and have been hooked on them ever since. The interesting thing is that they definitely lean towards the Electronic genre of music, which I normally am not a big fan. If you don't like what you hear, at least check out their song, Propane Nightmares, it is a favorite of mine.

Global Warming??

According to data being reported by the University of Illinois's Arctic Climate Research Center:

Rapid growth spurt leaves amount of ice at levels seen 29 years ago.

Thanks to a rapid rebound in recent months, global sea ice levels now equal those seen 29 years ago, when the year 1979 also drew to a close.

Ice levels had been tracking lower throughout much of 2008, but rapidly recovered in the last quarter. In fact, the rate of increase from September onward is the fastest rate of change on record, either upwards or downwards.

Deep Questions...

Why do vacuum cleaners have headlights?

It's not like you turn off all of your lights at night and pull out the vacuum to do a little cleaning. While at the same time, telling those that look at you wierd, "Don't worry, its got a headlight, I'll be fine."

One week to go...

Calvin...

This is Chris and Jill's (Valerie's older brother and wife) dog. I took advantage of him being lazy one night, although he moved on me a few times while I took the picture. Calvin is one awesome dog.
