Happenings in Texas...

Well the last two weeks have been quite eventful for Valerie and I. Just over a week ago, our offer on a house was accepted and we will close on our first home at the end of August. We are very excited as the house was almost exactly what we were looking for and in the price range we are hoping to be in. I will try and post some pictures soon.

Yesterday, Valerie found out that she had been promoted to Senior Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the Texas Division of The Salvation Army. She gets a nice pay increase, as well as a company vehicle. We are both now Directors within the Salvation Army and feel so blessed to have an opportunity to use our gifts and talents with such a highly-respected and ministry-focused organization.

Bourne Trilogy

My wife and I went and saw "The Bourne Ultimatum" this afternoon and we were not disappointed. This is one of the best trilogy around in my opinion. Great action, great storyline, great characters. The 3rd one, once again, had amazing chase scenes and edge of your seat action.

If you haven't gotten on board with Bourne, go and rent the first two (Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy) and then go see the third one. You will not be disappointed or bored.

Crazy...

Congrats to the Ryesetters...

Congrats to my good friends Matt and Jen on the birth of their second child. They had a little girl this evening, Jillian Jennifer.

Beckham has arrived...

I sat and watched David Beckham's debut last night with the LA Galaxy. I have always enjoyed watching soccer, especially the World Cup, and now that one of the world's biggest soccer stars is here in the US, I will probably be watching when his team is on TV. Call me a loser, but I am a fan of David Beckham. I even looked on Ebay last night for a Beckham jersey.

Something fun to do...

Next time you are riding in the car with your wife (or husband, significant other, etc.) and a classic '80s rock song comes on, like today when Def Leopard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" came on, here is what to do.

Start singing in the '80s rock voice and play air guitar...your wife will love it or in my case, she will shut the radio off and tell you that you're an idiot.

Would you do this?

It's that time of the year again...the running of the bulls at the San Fermin Festival in Pamplona, Spain. Each day during the 8-day festival, six to twelve bulls are let loose to run about 800 meters along narrow cobblestone streets with hundreds of people running in front, behind, and in this guy's case, on top of them. Amazingly, since 1924 only 13 people have died doing this.

If there was a group of friends I would want to run with the bulls with, they would have to be Reisetter, Bastron, Hansen, and Chidester. I have been on many trips and have experienced a lot of crazy things with these guys, and the thought of us running in front of a group of ticked-off bulls, would be priceless. Chidester would be yelling "Oh Shoooot," Hansen would try and jump one of the bulls, Bastron would be yelling "Winnnnnnnnner" everytime someone got nailed by a bull, and Reisetter, well for those of you that know Matt, just think about him running with bulls.

Update from Texas...

This will be a quick update because the only thing happening down here is rain...Average rainfall in June is 3 inches and we have had 11.5 inches. Good times!
