Muse

I am a huge fan of UK bands. I have for quite sometime going back to the days of Oasis. I listen to mostly UK groups nowadays as well, such as Coldplay, The Music, Starsailor, Travis, etc. My favorite group for the past few years has been Muse. These guys just straight up rock. I recently bought their new live CD/DVD combo called Haarp. Amazing. For those of you that are Muse fans, you know what I am talking about. I have to seen these guys in concert. I am posting a video from this DVD of the song Knights of Cydonia. This is the opening song from the concert/DVD and it is incredible. If you like strong, butt-kicking openers to concerts, here you go. For you music fans, especially Muse fans, its worth the watch.

(Susi, this is how I picture you up on stage, wailing on your guitar.)

Coldplay

I am a huge Coldplay fan and saw them on their last tour a few years ago when Valerie and I were living in Minneapolis. Anyways, it looks like their new CD "Viva La Vida" is going to be coming out June 16/17. Needless to say I will be purchasing it immediately. Until then, enjoy one of my favorite Coldplay songs.

Other highlights from our cruise...

1. Listening to Jamiacans try and sell us hash on the beach. "Parasailing, jet-skis, hash, glass-bottom boats."

2. 4-foot Tarpins swimming around us while snorkeling in Grand Cayman.

3. 5-star dining every night. Mac and cheese just doesn't cut it anymore.

4. Margaritas, beaches, and crystal blue water.

5. Watching Valerie play slots and double our money...then proceed to lose it (due to my continuing to tell her to "Let it ride! What can I say, I'm a riverboat gambler).

6. Watching one of the nightly shows and realizing one of the dancers looks exactly like a friend of ours...causing us to laugh hysterically throughout the rest of the show

7. Captians Cocktail Party...free drinks and appitizers.

Cruise Stops

We stopped in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel during our cruise. In Jamaica we went to Negril Beach for the day. In Grand Cayman we snorkeled and shopped (well at least Valerie did). In Cozumel we went and visited some Mayan Ruins (Tulum), which was absolutely amazing and our favorite shore excursion we did. Snorkeling for me was a close second. These ruins were on a cliff that overlooked the Carribean Sea. Here are a few pictures from those places we visited.

Back from vacation

Valerie and I took our first official vacation since our honeymoon this last week. We took a 7-day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. It was such a great time. Over the next week I am going to post pictures here about our trip. Hope you enjoy them!

This was our ship the Carnival Conquest while it was tendered in Grand Cayman.

Man on the moon...

Today while in Cleveland, TX, I saw a significant man in the history of space travel. In the restaurant I was eating at Eugene Cernan was pointed out to me. Who is Eugene Cernan? In 1972, Mr. Cernan walked on the moon and has since been the last person to do so. It is incredible to me to think, when I look at the moon, that people have walked on it. Then today, to actually see someone who has set foot on the surface of the moon...well I thought it was pretty cool.
